A day in my life at Clinipace

I manage over 40 CRAs on a daily basis, so there is no typical day. I work with the CRAs to troubleshoot problems so that the resolution meets the needs of the client and the site.

My "a-ha!" moment

When I was in nursing school, I had to visit the homes of my clients in Community Health Nursing. One client was very elderly and lonely. I don't think much nursing was done, per se, but a good relationship was built and I think the time I spent with this gentleman helped in some way.

The most important consideration a client should take when undertaking a clinical research project

Experience. I have over 24 years of clinical research experience in various positions. I think I understand what the client wants and do everything I can to ensure their needs are met.

One of the biggest misconceptions I run up against in my daily duties is

I think the biggest misconception is that you have to have experience in the area of the study drug to do the job effectively. I believe that experience is important, but the integrity of the individual is most important.

My #1 piece of advice when advising clients is

Look for how the team works together when choosing who you work with. Good team chemistry along with experience is important.
